Kari Rønnekleiv

Rønnekleiv (1972) studied at the Trondheim Conservatory of Music and Royal College of Music in London. She was a co-initiator of the chamber-orchestra «The Trondheim Soloists», in which she played for many years, sometimes leading, and sometimes playing as a soloist with. The last years she has focused her work on different solo-projects, collaborating closely with different composers. In 2007 she received the Norwegian Grammy for best contemporary music album, performing the music of Ole Henrik Moe jr. Since then she has given solo concerts at festivals such as Wien Modern, Zürich Tage für neue Musik, Bremen Tage für neue Musik and Ultima Oslo. Kari is also one of the co-directors of Apropos, a concert series for new and classical music.
